The SAILOR 4065 ERIRB is used to alert search and rescue services in the event of an emergency. It does this by transmitting a coded 406 MHz distress frequency message via satellite and earth stations to the nearest coordination centers.

The GNSS version is equipped with a built-in GPS receiver that allows the location of the EPIRB during search and rescue operations. Xenon flash allows visual identification of the buoy's location at long distances.
