Weather map

Windy  - weather forecasting service. It visualizes data from European Forecasting Centers satellites and produces a global weather map.

The service is ideal for planning long sea voyages. Or it can be used to familiarize yourself with weather conditions in future sailing areas: check how the wind is developing, monitor the movement of warm and cold fronts, monitor storms.


Detailed description:

• In the “Radar, lightning” section, you will see weather zones on the screen

• In the “Wind” section you can see gusts of wind and cumulative winds, which is very important for navigation

• In the “Rain, Thunderstorm” section you can find out information such as: accumulation of rain, new snow, snow depth, type of precipitation, thunderstorms

• In the “Temperature” section you can familiarize yourself with the dew point, humidity, and the height of the zero isotherm

• One of the important sections is “Clouds”, in it you can find information such as: high, medium and low clouds, fog, cloud top and bottom, visibility, CAPE index

• An equally important section for a sailor is “Waves”. In it you can see swell, waves of the 2nd and 3rd levels, wind waves, sea temperature, current

• Section “CO Concentration” is a necessary section in which the captain can look at the mass of dust, the mass of SO2, and the ozone layer.


You can also see pressure and weather notifications in the sections of the same name on the map.


If you don’t find something, use the convenient search bar in the “More Layers” tab. Also hidden there are switches for all sections: you can turn on the necessary functions and monitor their changes.
